Staff VP & Anthem Student Advantage Segment Leader
Drive the Student healthcare insurance segment for undergraduate, post graduate and international students by defining and leading the strategy and coordination between the segment and the local markets. Spearheads innovation and strategy to achieve company goals.
Develop and execute on the ASA growth strategy to meet or exceed LTGP membership & op gain targets
Develop competitive end-to end Student Health strategies across the enterprise and serve as the single point of accountability for attainment of the segment goals
Provide insights to the local markets from the Student organization
Partner with product to ensure competitive tracking and development of innovative Student products.
Ensure ongoing performance management of all related market strategies through crafting of key KPIs and development of appropriate tracking methods (e.g., performance dashboards)
Use performance management metrics to understand existing performance gaps and develop appropriate interventions
Oversee and direct management of external distribution relationships to effectively execute on sales and account management strategies.
Test, develop, and incubate ideas/solutions for digital member experiences for the student population
Generate and manage Student business with the BCBSA and other Blue Relationships
Expand our product line directly and indirectly such as our BH Student solutions, Intercollegiate sport programs, K-12 risk
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Location: May be located within commuting distance to an office in any of the 14 Anthem Blue States (ME, NH, CT, NY, CO, NV, GA, IN, OH, KY, MO, VA WI, or CA)
Requires a BA/BS degree; 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector to include leadership within a large organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred.
10+ years of progressive sales and marketing experience for student segments in health insurance
10+ years of management experience, experience as a student segment lead is preferred
Demonstrated experience in leading the design and execution of commercial strategies for one or multiple segments
Experience managing the performance and operations of segments and investment/initiatives
Demonstrated track record of creating top line growth by developing marketing strategies for various businesses and products.
P&L management experience
Ability to fluidly navigate matrixed organization
Ability to deliver on P&L and membership commitments
Excellent sales and negotiation skills
Excellent product management skills
Excellent people development skills
Excellent innovative sales and relationship development skills
Deep understanding of the Student marketplace
Strong relationships with the key distribution outlets
Deep understanding of market trends and developments in commercial segments (focus on Student)
Knowledge of commercial customers and customer needs in the Student segment
Strong understanding of market-leading practices, competitive intelligence, and cutting-edge innovation in the market
Strong network of key industry players (e.g., top tier brokerages and consultancies)
BCBSA knowledge and experience with Blue Partnerships

Annual Salary Range*: $165,200 - $206,499
