Responsible for participating in all phases of the design and development life cycle of analytic applications and reporting tools, utilizing various BI technology platforms. The Sr BI Solutions Engineer works as part of the Enterprise Data & AI Team developing applications, building and organizing data structuring into data warehouses, analyzing data and ensuring data integrity through sourcing and processing. The team is responsible for delivering AI models & insights to end-users through various applications, analyzing how programs are being influenced by these models as well as analyzing and how these models are performing.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements, leads requirement and design review meetings.

  • Collaborates with engineers for creative ideas for Web portals supporting interactive content, analyzes and classifies complex change request and reviews and evaluates possible enhancements.

  • Oversees issue resolution and implementation of alternatives across enterprise initiatives.

  • Addresses risks and implements contingency plans.

  • Partners with business, architecture and infrastructure to develop service level agreements to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.

  • Supervises the preparation of designs and technical and/or functional specifications.

  • Mentors others on coding standards and performs code reviews.

  • Supervises others on developing application internals for usability, reliability and scalability requirements.

  • Ensures system testing is complete, meets the test plan requirements and implemented according to plan.

  • Provides consultation for integration activities with other IT to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.

  • Assesses current status and supports BI planning efforts. Designs and evaluates detailed design components with high-level architecture blue prints.

  • Provides guidance on vendor evaluations and provides strategic direction based on evaluations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and minimum of 7 years multi platform, multiple Business Intelligence tools and/or business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

    Preferred Skills, Experiences and Competencies

  • Experience leading people, small projects and provide troubleshooting support strongly preferred.

  • Experience building data pipelines with programming languages like Python, Scala, Java.

  • Recent hands-on Data Engineering experience (e.g., Hadoop, Snowflake) preferred.

  • Experience with Data modeling techniques

  • Experience working with AWS (certification preferred; Google Cloud Platform (GCP, Snowflake)

  • Multi database and/or multi language strongly preferred.

    Tech stack and additional pluses include:

  • Full stack Big Data development (S3, EMR, Spark, RDBMS, NoSQL platforms)
