Senior Director, Local Market Product Strategy Lead (Product Management Dir Sr)
There are 2 positions available. These roles are supporting one or more of the following Anthem Central markets: Kentucky, Ohio, Wisconsin, Indiana. The selected candidate must reside within the Central region, preferably in a neighboring state. While we will consider all candidates living within the Central region, residence in the assigned Anthem market is preferred.
We are creating a new team with Product Management Sr. Directors responsible for leading the development and implementation of complex product strategies to complement current local market product teams in our major Anthem locations. This new team will provide a new connection with local market leaders; working closely with senior leadership (ex. Plan Presidents) to turbo-charge growth. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
Developing competitive local market strategy across products and segments and serve as the single point of strategic accountability at the local plan level across the product lifecycle
Providing insights to the local markets from the Products and Segments organization
Communicating local market insights to the Product and Segments organization
Partnering with product managers to achieve superior execution of product strategy in the marketplace
Contributing to our RFP responses
Presenting Anthem solution strategy, either across all products or for a specific solution family, at client, broker, or consultant events
Creating Anthem responses to competitor activity in the state
Tracking individual product performance by benefit design, market segment, and sub-region
Identifying system needs to support short and long term product strategy
Leading efforts/managing project teams in the implementation of complex regional and companywide initiatives including portfolio repositioning in a market, legislative changes, network/provider changes/ medical management program and policy initiatives, etc.
Requires a BA/BS degree; 7+ years of product management experience in healthcare; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Demonstrated results in three or more of the following areas required: Product Development, Product Strategy, Market Strategy, Market Research, or Risk Management.
Travel to the assigned office as necessary is required.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Sales or product marketing experience for commercial segments in health insurance
Experience building partnership and influencing at an executive level
Deep understanding of market trends and developments in commercial segments (Individual, Small Group, and Large Group).
Knowledge of commercial customers and customer needs in the segments.
Strong understanding of market-leading practices, competitive intelligence, and cutting-edge innovation in the market.
