The Project Manager will get to manage multiple projects of varying sizes and duration including large projects from a global perspective that incorporates both the business and technical aspects of the project.
This project management role will focus on Change Management. A successful candidate will actively engage with business partners and stakeholders to understand business operations and goals and create a roadmap to achieve change adoption. A successful candidate will have experience in transformational initiatives to deploy a consistent and effective change approach that aligns with Anthem’s culture resulting in an exceptional experience, desired business outcomes and adoption by all stakeholders.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: • Applying project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables, processes, and systems. • In addition to all responsibilities of a project manager this position coaches and mentors project team members; mentors other project managers; • Determines project scope; develops resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans; develops training plans; • Develops requirements documents; develops project approval matrix; • Identifies project team training and tool needs; • Defines, recommends and secures contractual agreements for services and products; • Coordinates requirements, schedules implementation and post-implement plans, and develops service-level agreements for vendor partners and global resources firms; • Defines quality gates for each project methodology phase; • Defines critical success factors; and establishes and manages the project warranty period. as assigned. • Actively leads, directs, coordinates and provides visibility into engagement, communications, and training efforts for all transformation initiatives. • Prepares for change by assessing the magnitude and complexity of the change with the organization’s change readiness and associated risks. Identifies pitfalls and potential points of challenge or change aversion. Conducts thorough methodological investigations to identify key stakeholders impacted by the change and determines appropriate timing of that change. • Creates engagement and communications strategies / plans to ensure all stakeholders are fully aware of impending changes. Works with appropriate departments to create coaching plans for leaders and associates and other key stakeholders. Conducts an impact assessment for stakeholders affected by the change items. • Performs quantitative and qualitative assessment of change success and change adoption.

Qualifications • BA/BS in a related field • 5+ years professional project management experience required during which at least 3 years are spent leading and directing project tasks, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. • Significant experience in both technical change management and organizational change management. Experience working in project delivery, understanding the balance required to deliver change management within constraints and competing priorities. • Strong communication and presentation skills required. • 7 years of relevant professional-level change management, organization development or business transformation experience required. • Three or more years of project leadership experience with the ability to lead and influence others across the organization required.
