The Director, Digital Solutions, plays a key role in driving the continued evolution of how we shape and drive our Employer constituent digital experiences at Anthem. This person is responsible for understanding the marketplace, segments priorities, digital innovation, and the competition. Also responsible for connecting, together the needs of all stakeholders (customers, business partners, technology enablers) and generating a digital solutions strategy to move Anthem to the next level. Accountable for providing vision and direction to a team of digital product management associates, and expanded sphere of delivery partners, who construct the solutions based on that strategy and vision. Collaborates with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization to evangelize the vision and orchestrate execution and delivery.
Primary duties to include, but are not limited to:
Accountable for overall digital product success for our Employer Platform (portal, mobile, APIs)
Defines the digital strategic vision, value-based target outcomes, resulting roadmap and priorities, and ensures team and vendors are aligned with vision and strategy
Acts as the enterprise product owner (a.k.a., Chief Product Owner) for the solution; understands product, business, and competitive landscape
Communicates strategy and roadmap to business partners and coordinates work with functional areas across the business.
Defines related digital performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that will enable success with broader business objectives
Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports
Identifies and resolves strategic issues that may impair the ability of their direct reports to meet goals.
Champions process improvement efforts to achieve optimal efficiencies and effectiveness
Serve as the primary point of contact for general inquires and/or escalations from inside and outside Anthem as it relates to Employer platforms and experiences
Assist in the creation of annual/semi-annual/ad-hoc business cases tied to funding of major and minor work to continually enhance Employer platform experiences
Requires a BA/BS degree in related field; MBA or equivalent preferred
10+ years of experience in solution strategy, digital product management and development of digital software products; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
5+ years of direct management of digital product teams (Digital Product Managers, Product Owners) required
