Responsible for installing, configuring, testing and maintaining systems that automate, measure or manage other standardized processes and tools within Technology and Operations.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Performs assigned tasks to complete moderate to highly complex customer requests for configuration, testing and/or delivery of desktop software applications and standardized Operating Systems components and patches to production desktops.
Provides support to IT users of desktop management tools to resolve technical issues of moderate to high complexity and provides 3rd level Helpdesk support for resolution of Sev1/Sev2 outages, based on SME status.
Interface with software vendors to resolve desktop toolset issues of moderate to high complexity.
Participates in meeting to advance regional or enterprise desktop configuration initiatives of moderate to high complexity and leads breakout sessions to gather requirements.
Evaluate and recommend standalone Desktop Management software tools to increase team productivity and reduce cost.
Represent the team as SME for simple to moderately complex audit requirements, in conjunction with administrative manager.
Perform level II systems administration of selected desktop management applications.
Requires BA/BS in related field; 4 or more years of Information systems related experience with specific background in computer networking, or telecommunications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Technical certification preferred.
Excellent written and oral communications skills required.
The ability to consult/collaborate with peers and managers from diverse areas and with business partners to develop appropriate technical solutions for the business is required.
Have a basic understanding of Networking and how it applies to Windows 10, mac os and other commonplace architectures.
Basic understanding of common IT troubleshooting tools, IE: Procmon, Wireshark, Orca, Dependency Walker, etc.
Has the ability to multi-task in high stress situations.
The ability to follow through on Tasks, and know when to collaborate with other teams when needed.
Innovative, looking to improve workflows or methods that are inherently broken or can benefit from change. Also geared to making suggestions that will improve efficiency.
Aggressive in the manner of jumping into issues and learning from that experience.
Has excellent testing skills and routines. Does not quickly sign off on testing, always looking at the details and the bigger picture of what a new software or configuration might affect.
Demonstrate moderate familiarity with support aspects of Microsoft operating systems and major application suites.
Demonstrate basic familiarity with Microsoft Azure / Intune, SCCM, Active Directory, and Windows security model.
Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft programming languages such as Windows script, VBscript, PowerShell.
Experience managing and/or supporting macOS
At least 3 year years in a Mac support role is nice to have
At least 5 years of experience as a Mac user
Experience managing macOS with Jamf Pro or another MDM is nice to have
Experience packaging Mac software preferred is nice to have
Demonstrate programming aptitude by using plain language (i.e. not in a programming language) to describe a well-formed and logically coherent approach to a solving a real-world problem.
Demonstrate mature reasoning ability by talking through the steps needed to understand, analyze, and solve real-world problem scenarios.
Be able to self-direct and properly prioritize when given loosely-defined tasks
Demonstrate a strong curiosity for how software works and interacts with other software in Windows environment.
Describe past experiences that demonstrate proper application of troubleshooting skills.
