Corporate Communications Manager
The Corporate Communications Manager – HR will support the development of internal communications supporting Anthem’s human resources strategy, with a strong connection to Anthem’s purpose, mission, and values. The Manager will focus on building strategic communications campaigns to engage associates on human resource programs and topics.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: - Leads the research of communication needs and establishes goals and objectives. - Researches, develops, reviews and/or edits communications materials for senior management. - Serves as senior editor of corporate and/or online communications and coordinates with online team in posting of appropriate messages. - Partners with leadership to develop and implement a strategic communications plan in support of HR’s overall initiatives. - May be responsible for obtaining bids to ensure cost effective spending on department programs or initiatives. - Provides guidance or direction to team members on departmental projects. Work location: Any Anthem state; may consider other locations for most qualified applicant.
Minimum requirements: Requires a BA/BS in public relations, journalism, English, communications, or related area; 7 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred qualifications: - Demonstrated ability to provide strategic counsel to business partners, envision and communicate creative solutions to business challenges, and successfully develop and implement communication strategies and tactics. - Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication skills, along with excellent writing and editing skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Familiarity with principles and practices of HR, including recruitment, training and development, performance management preferred. - MS preferred. - Knowledge of managed care and the health insurance industry preferred.
