This position is responsible for the design, maintenance and measurement of Anthem’s provider networks, in addition to assessing the competitiveness of our provider contracts; critical activities that support key enterprise goals related to High Performance Networks (HPNs) and unit-price trend targets.
Responsible for developing key reporting capabilities and formulating analytical recommendations with core focus in the network and competitive intelligence space. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Determines how decision support systems and reporting capabilities will provide the insights required to make effective business decisions.
Performs modeling of information sources and flows.
May coordinate the activities of a project team and monitors project schedules and costs for own projects.
Develops strategic report applications from multiple data sources.
Establishes and maintains excellent knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, system capabilities, programming languages, and data integrity issues.
Develops and supports complex applications for business areas requiring design and implementation of database tables.
Conducts training on use of applications developed.
Requires a BS/BA degree; 4-5 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Experience with relational databases, knowledge of query tools, statistical software and business intelligence software required.
Ability to manipulate large sets of data is required.
Strong analytical, organizational, presentation and problem solving skills are required.
SQL experience required.
SAS and Python experience preferred.
Master's degree preferred.
In-depth knowledge of evaluating provider network performance from a cost and quality standpoint preferred.
In-depth knowledge of provider profiling methodologies to evaluate cost and quality (i.e. case-mix adjusted cost per service, ETG, DxCG) preferred
In-depth knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement methodologies preferred.
In-depth knowledge of the files being posted by hospitals in compliance with CMS Price Transparency regulations preferred.
